Default STO Cheat!!!

Well... kind of

Right now you can turn on autofire for 1 fore and 1 aft weapon, and according to a dev post they have not completely decided about macros. Which to me means they are just going by industry standards. If you make your G13 or n52 or whatever play the game for you while you are watching a movie... you could probably get banned. If you just macro to help your active gameplay then it should be fine.

With that in mind you can just click on autofire on multiple weapons fore and aft if you just click them fast enough.

"Put the two weapons next to each other in your front section. Then right click them both as rapidly as possible, eventually you'll get them both green. I have two front firing auto fire dual cannons this way. The way it should be."
Just make sure the autofire green square is all off before you try, as in turn off autofire on all fore weapons before trying this or aft depending on which you are trying to get set.

Supposedly you can get 3 fore and 3 aft done this way, but that's about it. I so far have only been able to get 2.

I found this out yesterday in game and was just going to tell people from here in the game, but I just read on the STO board and it seems to be pretty well known, and posted about. So don't see the harm in putting it here also

I don't understand why the Devs think that pounding the spacebar is good gameplay. Especially when so many people can just make macros to do it for them.

I'd be happy with a maintain option. It's in the settings for ground combat, but doesn't appear to do anything. If they would just set it so we could hold down the button I'd be satisfied. right now, I'm clicking my mouse button like a feind.

I do not know, seems like a dev brain fart. I think it is only a matter of time before they allow autofire back in to quote a post about this in response to someone defending no-autofire

Are you also the sort of person that prefers to pull the trigger every single time you want to fire a bullet when you're using a chaingun?

update on this from a cryptic dev

Quote:
Yes - we're going to ban you - but just you, LKynes. : )

No. We won't. In fact, we're actively looking into opening up the auto-fire feature like you guys have been asking for. It'll probably be a little but before we release a solution though.

We're currently not planning on fixing the multi auto-fire "bug" until we have a real solution. Don't worry, no banning.
If anyone wants to know how I get 4 on autofire let me know

I wish there was an autofire button toggle. Sometimes I find it easier to launch scramble sensors and sit back a moment before charging in. if something is on autofire, everything is on me before their sensors are scrambled. Toggle phasers on and toggle phasers off would be fine with me.

How do you get 4 on Autofire? Currently in my Heavy Cruiser I've got 2 Phasers fore and 2 Phasers aft. I was able to click fast and get both sets toggled on. In my next ship, I think I'm going to have to toggle 3 on, and I don't know if I can mouse over them that fast. (Trackball)

Here are the instructions I got a while back, I didn't share before because I didn't want to get anyone banned just in case the dev's flipped out over multi-autofiring

first step is to go tohttp://www.autohotkey.com/download/AutoHotKeyInstall.exe

once that's installed you have to open a new text document by opening notepad
(or right click on desktop -> new -> text document)

copy and paste this into the text document:

loop
{
GetKeyState, state, Shift ; checks the shift key
___________________________

if state = D
loop 4
{
Send {RButton down}
sleep 1
Send {RButton up}
MouseMove, 35, 0 [, 0, R]
}
}

______________________________

choose save as and name it ___________.ahk the filename isn't important, but the file extension has to be .ahk

you can now double click on that file and a green box with an "H" should now appear in the notification area on your desktop (the lower right of the screen, next to your clock)

with that running you need to go in game and deactivate any auto-fire that's already turned on.

next line your mouse up with the first weapon in your fore weapon slots and press the shift key for about a second. it might not work every time, just turn off all the auto-fire that was activated and try it again.

(i find it's easiest if your power bar is set to the default setting, but it works in any setting as long as you do the fore weapons and aft weapons seperately)

and voila :D make sure you now close the macro so you can use your shift key without the program running. all you need to do is right click on the green "H" in the notification area (if you're running in full screen mode you'll have to minmize or alt-tab out of the game)

now that this is set up you can even turn off auto-fire whenever it isnt convienient and just use the macro again at a later time to get them all on without any effort or skill

if any of this was hard to follow let me know and I'll be happy to help ^^

/DefaultAutoAttack 0 will toggle off your auto attack so you won't fire at the first target at 10km. Firing turns this back on. I bound this to N.

As a sub-note, in the state of the game, they acknowledged the desire for more autofire, so maybe soon we won't have to use a quick-click to get them all set.
