Default Monk Epic 1.5/2.0 Prequest - COMPLETE

PREQUEST TO EPIC 1.5/2.0 FOR NON-EPIC MONKS - SKIP TO STEP ONE OF 1.5 QUEST IF YOU HAVE YOUR FIRST EPIC

Prequest Step a: A Fallen Student's Ways of Enlightenment - Lake Rathetear (loc 1350, 2075)

You say, 'Hail, a fallen student'

As you look at this individual, you can tell he has something bothering him greatly. The fallen student says, 'Eh? There is nothing I can help you with. I have nothing for myself anymore. . .except these [cursed dreams].'

    You say, 'What cursed dreams?'

a fallen student says 'I sense something within you. . .You may walk the path, but I must be certain. The information I possess is too important to give to just anyone. If you believe you are worthy of the information I hold you will [complete this task] I ask.''

You say, 'I will complete the task.'

a fallen student says 'Do not think that it will be an easy feat, even for one with such capabilities as yourself. There are two masters you must find. They will show you the ways of the enlightened. Return to me after you have gained proof of your deeds.'

You say, 'Show me the way of the enlightened'

a fallen student says 'Very well then. There is a place full of mirrors. Locate one of them and speak the words, 'I am ready to be tested.' It is at this point you will face the darkness within yourself. You will have to face this foe alone, remember that. Return back to me if you manage to prove that you are worthy of true enlightenment.'

    Prequest Step b: Master Cedrick

Cedrick is found in Cobalt Scar. His location is –970, 1185.

    You say "Hail Cedrick"

Cedrick says ‘So you wish to challenge me, eh? Why else would you be here bearing the Sign of Acceptance. It is your own funeral though. If you still wish to [prove your worth] and ascend to the next level I am ready.

You say ‘I will prove my worth’

Cedrick says ‘I didn’t know slime could speak common.. go back to the sewer before I lose my temper.'

Cedrick then attacks. Upon defeat, Cedrick drops a Seal of Cedrick.

    Prequest Step c: Master Mystik

Mystik is found in West Karana. Her locaction is 1370, -7350.

    You say, 'Hail, Mystik'

Mystik says 'I see you bear the Sign of Acceptance. So you believe you are strong enough to accomplish all that is asked of you? If you stand true during this [test] you will find all you seek.'

You say, 'i am ready for the test'

Mystik says 'In this test you will have to face me and prove that you have the heart to succeed. I hope you have brought strong allies to accompany you for you shall need them. We shall begin as soon as you are [ready to start].'

You say, 'i am ready to start'

Mystik says 'I didn't know Slime could speak common..go back to the sewer before I lose my temper.'

Max hit on a 66 time geared Paladin was 1600.

Mystik's corpse says 'You have proven to be successful. Go now and continue your journey.'

You must kill Mystik. Mystik hits for 1100 max. 800 max with defensive disc on. She had high resistance to fire, but magic and cold landed easily. She was magic slowable.

Mystik drops a Seal of Mystik.

Prequest Step d: Return to Vortix

You say ‘Hail, a fallen student’

A fallen student says ‘I see you do have the skill that is needed to continue this quest, but you must now face your hardest foe yet. For your final task, you will be alone, and in that moment you will have to face your true self. Many cannot bear to see what they find within. It is at that time we really see what we are capable of. If you wish to continue, I will [show you the way].

Hand a fallen student the Seal of Cedrick and the Seal of Mystik.

A fallen student says ‘Very well then. There is a place full of mirrors. Locate one of them and speak the words, ‘I am ready to be tested.’ It is at this point you will face the darkness within yourself. You will have to face this foe alone, remember that. Return back to me if you manage to prove you are worthy of true enlightenment.

Prequest Step e: Test of Enlightenment

On the 4th floor of the Tower of Frozen Shadow, there is a mirror to zone out. Go to the zone out mirror and say "I am ready to be tested." A level 65 monk that looks like you spawns. Use your discliplines and you should win.

The mirror image drops a Medal of Identity.

Prequest Step f: Flagged for Quest

Hand the Medal of Identity to a Fallen Student.

A fallen student says, "So i see you do truly have the ability to follow the path of the Enlightened. I am sorry i was not sure before but i am now. Now i must tell you of my [cursed dreams].

Cedrik - Knockbacks, unless resist is high enough. Suggest levitate whilst fighting. Highish regen. Slowable, hardest hit 540.

Tower of Frozen Shadow keys no longer work since the Dec 15 patch. Anyone found out how to get back in?

I went to tofs just yesterday(after the dec. 15 patch) because I felt like keying myself for the tower. Made my way up to the 4th level rather quickly, getting the first 3 keys. Spent a couple hours on the 4th level trying to spawn the key holder, with no luck. Monk fight is on the 4th floor though, so it is possible to get there. Maybe you just need to get the keys again.

I seem to be running into an issue. When I attempt to do the prequest it gives me the emotes for the epic 1.5 (when talking to A Fallen Student) decided to go after cedric anyways. He said that I am not ready to face him (or something similar), at which point I decided to attempt the 1.5 after prequest. I get to the point where I need to get the ground spawn portion from Researcher Relreom and he tells me that he is much too busy to help me. Anyone else run into this problem?

Does the epic 1.5 eat the epic 1.0? If not, what is the significance of doing the prequest? I guess I'm a little confused as to why the prequest is not needed for the epic 1.0'd monks. Any help is appreciated!

1.5 does NOT eat the 1.0 epic.

Having the CF's works as a kind of pre-flag for getting the 1.5 quest.

If you DON'T have the CF's, you have to do the pre-quest before you are given the quest for 1.5.

Does anyone know what you have to do if you jack up the ToFS fight? I didn't read carefully enough and had a shaman box with me and the mirror image shattered :/

N/M it took about an hour to reset. And I didn't have to go re-hail or anything.

    Dude, do you know Steve150?

You should get to know him. He can show you how it's done.
