App that fires off a set email unless you enter a pass code every 24 hours?
Going for AC before AC was cool.
I was thinking more along the lines of things you'd see in movies. Such as a movie where a person is kidnapped and he says if you kill me, then my phone which I've hidden will automatically send a document to the press exposing you and your evil corporation. Only I know the pass code to prevent it, but I have to enter it every 24 hours, so you better release me!
I like all these ideas, but my original idea was to set up a program like one of the file explorer apps like Astro, only you can put in documents, pictures and other possibly incriminating things on there. And if you don't enter the code in every X interval days, weeks, whatever they would get auto erased.
But I don't see why that wouldn't work also on a flip side of the same timer app you could have it set to do any number of things. E-mail X already drafted info to whomever, turns the GPS on and keeps turning it on or attempts to every few minutes. In case your kidnapper sees the GPS icon and turns it off, or turns the phone off completely
The reason I didn't think of those sort of things is because if I ever kidnapped someone the first thing I'd do is take the battery out of their phone.
That way your SO doesn't find your pr0n stash on your phone ehh?
But that sounds like a good option to include. The app could do multiple things as you said, either delete files in a directory, or send a precomposed email, or turn on/off services based upon you entering/not entering the code at whatever required interval.
Friends and I always discussed an app called shovel buddy that if you didnt enter in a pass code on a set basis it would delete data from your machine that you specify. That way in case you died all the stuff you dont want every one to find would be deleted.
