    Default Desktop Upgrade Help

    Hey guys

Hoping you can suggest a good mid-tower case and power supply from newegg.ca or tigerdirect.ca

I used to know this stuff like the back of my hand but I'm so dated on stuff right now.

I've got a crappy e-machines desktop p4 and I'm slowly transitioning to a new system.

So far I got a new cpu and video card but I want a bigger better case and power supply. I'm buying these things one part at a time as I'm on a budget.

    whats the budget?

    thermaltake has some good ones

i have the a60 case (50 dollars with rebate-us dollars)

    antec of course

i had a raidmax smilodon but the power button went and there was no way to easily replace that... it was decent

i really like the thermaltake a60 though for that price w/rebate

power supply- again, how much you want to spend?

i like and have used: antec & osz.
definately get one that is modular (so you only plug in the cables YOU need)

    check out hardocp's reviews:

I've built 3 systems now with the antec 900 case and absolutely love it. Also, all 3 systems have corsair modular power supplies and they have also been rock solid and you don't have as much of a cable nightmare since only the power cables you need are plugged in. Just make sure to pick up a power supply with enough wattage to handle everything.

Is this the one you have lenardo?

which brand power supply do you use now?

I just got a new video card memory cpu and motherboard. Next step is to get a case and PSU.

    went from:

    P4 630 3.0 GHz (single core) to P4 D 945 3.4 GHz (dual core)
    2 GB DDR2 to 4 GB DDR3
Intel d102ggc2 motherboard to ASUS P5G41T-M LX
Sapphire ATI HD 2600 Pro 512MB GDDR2 to PNY GeForce GT 440 1 GB GDDR5

So far I've spent less than $200 and the place across the street is probably going to give me $50-$60 for my used stuff.

Okay so I got a new case a while back.

Upgraded to Core 2 E8400 CPU
Still have GT440 video and 4 GB ddr3
    System Board is P5G41T-M LX

I'm not sure I want to jump and spend extra money on a ddr4 capable board.

Been looking at z97 chipset boards.

Anyone have recommendation for an LGA1150 CPU? And a z97 board? Asus is what I've been using for a couple decades now... Nothing else.
