Are there any secrets out there that I don't know about? I diced some garlic and after washing my hands several times there was still a faint scent of garlic. Any thoughts?

thin rubber gloves?
in all honesty a good strong soap and proper washing should have removed the smell.

I suppose that it could be in my mind too... nobody else can smell it (I've made other people smell my hands) /shrug

I'd try using a brush or something to wash under your fingernails.

Try rubbing your hands down really well with a cut lemon. I recall that is supposed to remove some pretty heinous smells.

Simple tip.
Keep a stainless steel utensil in your hands while washing them. You can even buy a stainless steel disc just for this, but why would you?
You'll be surprised at how well this works, just don't ask me why.

Take a freikin shower once and a while.

Shotan is correct. I don't know what it does, but it works. There are even little things that hang onto the faucet so the water runs over a stainless steel disc for just such purposes.
