Took a year off from playing EQ to try out some new games. Looks like me and a few buddies are going to start playing again. What are some highlights of things I should check out, gear I should look at finding and general improvements to the game?

I played a level 52 iksar monk and I left before the release of Luclin.

Planes of Power is coming out in October of this year, enabling translocations from any town in norrath/luclin to the plane of knowledge, then from the plane of knowledge down to any town making traveling sweeeeeeeeeeeeet.

Forgot 3 biggies:

Players can ride Horses bought for a ridiculous price in the bazaar zone.

The bazaar zone on luclin is THE trading zone. You can search for items to buy, have all their prices right there etc. It rocks.

NPC casters are now real smart and are using spells indicative of their level. IE NPC shaman try to root you and dot you instead of casting their lowest level dd and dispelling their own dots.

Your best bet is to go to EQ castersrealm--they have a full patch history there.

EDIT: anyone know what's wrong with my sig? The posted url to the photo is correct, the link is correct because it works, but it just doesn't find the picture for some reason. Is it because I'm using geocities?
