View Full Version : My Monk UI - Available SOON (yes, I know...)

08-14-2002, 03:05 AM
Hi everyone,

I don't know if that will be of interest to anyone, but here is a screenshot of my monkly UI, based on Vertebrae's Rogue Mod, with only a few minor tweaks, and a nice use of viewport.

Resolution is 1600x1200 and the vieport area is 1200x900

<img src=http://membres.lycos.fr/mathiasberenger/eq/UIGrygan.jpg>

The player window incorporates:

HP and %

Fatigue

XP and %

AAXP and %

Weight

AC

ATK

HP and max

The hotbox includes primary/secondary and range/ammo slots, as well as the whole inventory. It is customizable to replace any inventory slot by a worn clickable item in any slot.

It also shows resists: Poison/Magic/Disease/Fire/Cold

The inventory has the autoequip area hiden behind the stats.

Chats are pretty self explanatory:

ooc/shout/auction/chat channels on the bottom left

say/tell/guild/main in the middle with the input box

and at the right, from top to bottom, my Hitmodes:

Me being hit

My hits and Skills

Other hits and deaths

Spells

If anybody really want the exact same one, I will post the download somewhere.

By the way, grats to my brother monk on the screenshot, he managed to get Raster on his first 3hours camp down there while I was chatting with him ;-)

I haven't been that lucky myself...

Bah, at least it gives me time to play with my UI...

Ehehe, I am glad some people want to download it <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/wink.gif ALT=";)">

Well, I will try to do something nice tonight when I get back from work:

1. Check that everything is still working after the patch... Hmmm, edit that, spend 2 hours changing everything so that it works again after the patch...

2. Adjust the last 2-3 windows positions I am still not completely happy with

3. Take another nice screenshot (without forgetting to open the inventory window this time...)

4. Make a nice zip file and upload it to my webspace

5. Post here with the minimum installation instructions

6. Attach some extracts of my UI_Grygan.ini file where I set up all the windows positions and the viewport parameters so you can get the exact same setup.

Just give me a little time <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/wink.gif ALT=";)">

</p>

Pretty looking interface....and probably the best "EQ activity" background i've seen <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/smile.gif ALT=":)"> Gratz on Raster!

Also, are the windows on the left (i.e. your status, group hp, buffs, etc) all one window or are they separate?

I still like having those windows transparent right in the bottom middle of the screen.

Unfortunately, as I wrote in my post, Raster wasn't for me <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/frown.gif ALT=":(">

But the windows are still independent, so you will be able to move them separately as you wish.

However, to do that, you may have to open the corresponding xml files and set the borders tag back to true, or adjust the X and Y positions manually by editing your UI_CharName.ini

</p>

08-14-2002, 11:54 AM
Wow everything is so nice and "clean" looking, especially the borders. Me likey likey.

post it pweez!

OK, here we go.

First, a new screenshot (this time I didn't forget to open the inventory) with my pretty face in the middle ;)

<img src=http://membres.lycos.fr/mathiasberenger/eq/UIGrygan2.jpg>

Then the downlad if you want it:

Ze Zip File (http://membres.lycos.fr/mathiasberenger/eq/UIGrygan.zip)

How to install it?

1. Open your c:Program FilesEverQuestuifiles directory

2. Create a new grygan subdirectory

3. Extract the zip into it

4. In your Everquest main directory, open your eqclient.ini and choose grygan (instead of default) as your base skin

5. Open your UI_Grygan_41.ini (or the equivalent for you) and make the adjustments shown below...

Adjustments to make to your UI_Grygan_41.ini in order to reproduce the nice window layout that you get in the screenshot:

I am reproducing only the parts of the ini file that you have to change manually

By the way, all my windows on the outside of the viewport area have the same settings:

BGTint.red=0

BGTint.green=0

BGTint.blue=0

Locked=true

And that's it...

By the way, I made the changes myself in the files so that I could play with the skin after yesterday's patch, but it was before Vertebrae released his official patch of the skin, so I will probably have to update the thing tonight.

There are a few minor problems left:

1. The compass doesn't work (it is just blank)

2. Don't know if I really needed to copy the window_pieces04.tga and EQUI_CompassWnd.xml over from the default directory into my grygan directory...

Once more, all the credit for this work goes to Vertebrae for providing this really amazing looking mod. I just played around with his base.

OK, I changed the EQUI_Animations.xml file, so if you download the attachment and overwrite the one in your grygan directory, the Compass should now be working.

Enjoy ;)

Next patch will include a nice little weight icon instead of the current STR icon I am using by default in the PlayerWindow for the moment...

You can see it here in the world premiere, in all its 20x20 glory:

Hey im considering downloading your mod but I run on a much lower resolution. I usually go between 600x800 (or whatever it is) or the 1200X700(number are probably wrong) but I like how your mod looks great, and would be very helpful for me at both of these resolutions so scaling the numbers down would be difficult with always having to log in and back out and back in again to keep checking it. If there is no other way then this is a must do but tedious task...but if you know of any other way to do this please let me know. This mod is 1 of my favorite so far. =) thanks a lot.

Hi Brothers.

Due to popular demand (from some of you and some of my guildmates as well) I am working on the transposition of my UI into a lower resolution, namely 1024x768.

Here are 2 screenshots of what I have managed so far:

I like the widgets/UI elements, including the button appearance and especially those thick, clear progress bars. Is it easy to incorporate those progress bars separately, in orther words, are those window_pieces .TGAs interoperable with other XMLs?

bumpage for the 1024 x 768 (or is there that 1154 x something? i think i'm using that one, but adapting should be easy even for a n00b, right?)

is the viewport automatically set? i don't like viewports, i like semi transparent windows...
