anyone figure out the pattern on that last marauder? We did him the other night over and over....trying to figure out the pattern with no luck...we finally said screw it ffa it and guess we got lucky...chanter kill and he was dead

Doesn't help with the marauder (final mob), he only gives the "your energy didn't match the energy of the marauder" emote, but no emote which closer specifies which class has to do the kill shot. And the message you get at 20% (something like "marauder seems to change", don't have exact wording at hand) doesn't give a hint either. So basically we do ffa/luck on him too, eventually running out of the room if clerics start going oom...

This is the post I made to my guild board on this subject, hope they don't mind me reposting this here - I guess we wouldn't mind any more info about it anyway.



BTW I left my /gu comment in, since yes, the last mob did drop 2* +70 end augs, our previous win netted us only one <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/frown.gif ALT=":(">

WTH is up with itemisation when you can get POS drops like those augs on trials that take hours? /rude sony.



I don't know if we're going to bother doing this one again until people need the key drops - just not worth running through the damn thing for rotting random drops and +70 end augs.



edit: changed the names to their classes.

edit: as should be obvious, I didn't catch all of either fight, and missed at least one of the kill shots; Still the info should be useful.

Since I know we want to farm more 70endurance augs, and someone was asking for this data, here are the relevant bits of my logs for the two Vrex Xalkak`s Marauder fights that I can find (If we have done this trial any more times I must have missed it)

Points of interest:



I was obviously out of range for bits of the first raid; other than the long period after we did our "brave sir robin" act, I think I caught all of the second raid.



You get the changing emote every 45 seconds.



we've only had 3 different types it's vulnrable to:

The creature will perish under the strength of intelligent magic.

The creature cannot stand up to the power of healers.

The creature appears weak to the combined effort of strength and cunning!



We've not killed it that often, so maybe we've not seen a hybrid one, if there is one.



Hope that's useful to someone, assuming we ever do that trial again...



P.S. despite my utterance to /gu, I'm not a GM and I can't set mob loots, so don't ask.

dubbo I'm not talking about the first 4...yes thats easy I'm talking about the last one and chenkov has said he says he is changing usually twice through the fight. Everyone I have talked to says there is no pattern that you just have to keep killing him until you get lucky. I was just thinking there has to be a pattern....but there again we are talking about soe.

anyways as far as I can tell, there is indeed a pattern he rotates what he is killable by in a pattern, and changes every 45 seconds, but being such a relative high chance of getting it right (1/4) That actually trying to get the right killer may not be worth it, because after afew kills you just get it right anyways

On Marauder, we generally have had no issue with letting a rogue getting kill shot and down he goes. Granted, can lead to having to redo a few times but when properly executed, we have gotten the mob down with rogue KS no problems. This is despite the emotes given for other classes. No real pattern that is apparent at this time, but we usually just have everyone but rogues back off around 10%. That is cool since that lets the rogues eat enrage for some good laughs. I like this fight as I can often just sit back and watch people get plowed for fun.

not the easiest way to do this but.



kill the marauder, read the death emote to determine archtype, watch emotes for in fight changes, kill marauder after 4th change emote and before 5th with the same archtype as the first death emote.



the marauder is a serious DPS mob, keeping an MA up through 2 kills isn't easy, and slowing down the kill waiting for the 4th emote doesn't help, but its a sure thing.

we've just started doing ikk3,how do you get the last set of golems single,we;ve tried allkinds of things but nothing solid enuf to use.the chain los agro is teh sux,is there a way to get hem single ever time?

order of the changes would be...

Caster

Hybrid

Meele

Priest



Kill mob once and see what hes at, then just after each kill Say to raid which class's to get kill shot "at that time"



i.e

Dude killed by Paladin ( yeah yeah likely i know <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/tongue.gif ALT=":p"> )

Dude must be killed by intelligence.

Dude changes = "hybrid kill shot"

Dude changes = "meele kill shot"

dude changes = "priest kill shot

Dude is killed by leet drood.

easy to get them solo. pet pull (necro did our pulls). raid kills it behind the wall just inside the door to the room, so that no mobs see you while you are killin the single mob that was pet pulled out. It's critical none of your raid gets within line of sight of a golem though. So watch that Push <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/laugh.gif ALT=":lol">

Raiding time is over to me (thank you WoW, thank you EQ2) at those levels but if I remember right we tried (more or less succesfully) that we pull the 4, tank 1 and have the 3 others be aggroed by people outside the room thus making them warp back. It *was* super messy all the time and I maybe have the trials wrong though so not 100% sure <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/frown.gif ALT=":("> .
