View Full Version : I just did Mountain Trial 1
Ok, I just finish this Trial and got a flag. I am so happy right now. For those who haven't done this trial, here what we did.
We had Warrior, Paladin, Druid, Enchanter, cleric and me. I was pulling, most of those mobs are immune to Phantom Call. But they are pretty easy enough to split. If you have an enchanter in your group, this trial is pretty easy. Pull Pooka, and enchanter charm this mob. You don't even need to slow the mob, because they will go down really fast with enchanter mob's DPS.
They respawn very fast. You need to keep moving, and you need to kill 100 mobs to spawn the flag giver, he spawn at the north east corner. There's 7 mobs in that corner, 3 on the right and 4 on the left side. Easy to split from right side.
This is very straight forward trial, move around and kill fast. Fun to be a puller because you need to pull non stop.
Over all, I had really good time in Mountain Trial tonight. Can't wait to get Mountain Trial 2 Flag.

I hate this new GoD name convention. I just don't get them. Probably someone who named VT mob's name, names all GoD zones.

Ya. Vxed.
You just need to kill 100 mobs to spawn the NPC at the top right of the map.
We usually stay at the zone in and pull down the allys there until we've killed 75 mobs, then make our way up killing the last 25 on the way. Most mobs at zone in are melee types. Also many are lullable. Repop is very fast, and there are lots of wanderers.
Random named spawn every now and then as wanderers and also in some fixed static spots.
Trash mobs hit for 1200 and proc a variety of things, mostly 700+ DD's and the dots, and most mitigate slow.
The little "trillobites" are a pain, as they are hard to see on the ground. The "dog" things cast a snare/dot.. make sure you have MR.. the archers run at selo's, if pulling far, have stone/mend ready because they will try to rip your spine out.
If you do allow a chanter to charm the Pooka's, never allow it to be hasted unless you have a deathwish. 70% hasted 1200 hitters are not fun to add mid fight with a dead enchanter.
Tipt is entirly different, and in my opinion a lot harder and the more deadly of these two trials, but a lot more fun and more rewarding (item wise). The riddler, given a wrong answer means instant wipe. The final mob can quickly reduce your group to corpses (quad 2200 hitter with a 1k proc).
These trials are not for the weak hearted.. if you really enjoy hard LDoN, you'll enjoy these..

imho you should use a charmed pet in vxed everytime. have a druid or ranger snare it on charm breaks. a skilled chanter can even haste it then with low risk.
having this kind of dps you are done with this trial in less than half the time a group takes without a charmed pet.

Part of the fun of the encounter is to do it the way it was designed.. do you see the gate open, or do you get trampled by a horde of rampaging mobs. ;-) (or do you FD whilst your group mates scream and run like schoolgirls chased by godzilla !).
Trick tactics like camping out people and training the corpse camping sods off elsewhere is not in the spirit of how it was designed, although I guess it's a valid tactic.. not like it's hard to get the right answer anyway, the riddles are pretty easy, and your supplied with a "list" of answers.. assuming it's not bugged (as it sometimes is).

Oh btw, I got vengence 3 augmentation from name last night. And we didn't stay at the zone in. We were moving just like LDON. If you have a map, you'll understand but we went to right side and basically circled around. Btw the we pass the bridge second time, flag NPC spawned. Overall, it was fun and doing few FD split was nice. There's alot of mobs are not lullable, I have to say, more than 50% mobs there are not lullable especially where the mobs in the room, tight spot. You absolutely need to split them, and few casters are mixed in there too.
