K, so we're doing poe dust ring, if anyone's unfamiliar with it, basically 3 adds are supposed to charge camp during boss fight.
Well, we were planning for this, we pulled, and at about 98%, 5 adds popped, 'A Triumvirate Protector'... now, i've never even seen these mobs before, much less during dust event, and much less 5 at a time. We got them under control, root/mezzed and whatnot, jsut in time for 5 more, then 5 more, ect, ect. Till eventually we had about 45 of them, and ended up wiping due to ch rot getting killed, ect. Might also note at this point warder was at 90%.
Soooo... seeing as how we've never had this happen before, does it have something to do with where we pulled him? or did they change event while we weren't looking? or perhaps it's just been bugged for us for the other times we've killed him? <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/tongue.gif ALT=":p">

i vaguely remember tagging along to this event. I believe you are supposed to kill the billion protectors before you do the boss.

Nah, like.. those are all spawned when you kill trigger, these are somthing totally seperate from the mobs that trigger the 3 triums... im just curious if this is supposed to happen, or did we get a bugged one every kill before this or something?

The biggest problem I've seen with the dust ring is that sometimes it can be double spawned. I.E. there are two dusty warders, and if you kill them both, instead of 35ish decotees spawning, like 70 do. It's possible someone else did the ring before you and failed at the trium's... that would mean that they were double spawned when you did your ring.
Just a guess, but it's all I can think of.

there has been 3 up for us kurr
we had to wax all 3, yeah, lets just say it was ugly.
whathappend to you was the same thing, i don't knwo if you killed both the warders or not, but that is what happend to us. and i know with one of the 6? or 7? elemental guilds we got now adays SOMEONE wanted to try the ring and failed i am sure of it.

Haven't had that exact problem, but we did have the fun of having 10 Sludge Lurkers up for the mud ring last night. At one point, with no filth's up, 8 Lurkers still up, no PH's up, we kill the last muddite and BOOM *8* filth gorgers pop.
Obviously whatever they are using to script the rings is not very robust <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/frown.gif ALT=":("> .

Fairly sure Dust has been done on our server since patch without incident. However, we did have a similar situation happen to us a few months ago (though the spawns were popping out of PH warder instead of real one). This happened after we had killed the three Triums though, so no clue why it happened to you.

We did Perfected last night on Vazaelle. No additional adds other than the 3 that rush you while engaging Perfected. I have seen these ring events get bugged in Earth and get duplicates or more on pops. We also did Perfected on Thursday last week and same thing. May have been a bugged event.

We had those minis chain popping on us on one attempt of the Dust ring, again without seeing the 3 Tris charging us. The tris have also popped at a variety of times - sometimes on the pop of the Perfected Warder, sometimes mid battle. To concur with posters above, I think the ring had been failed before our attempt. I also think that if you kill the tri pops, those minis start popping, but that is a guess.

Heh, we did it again tonight... im thinking theres just multiple forms of the named. This time no adds popped until about 60%, then they started comin really fast... we downed him with like 20 left in zone and mobs killing everyone, ended up wiping, i got bracer defaulted (lame) since i was only one alive, and a ranger suicided for cloak ... but, we beat him.
It was still siginficantly harder than the 3 soil version, wish it was more reliable =

Ok, we got the huge number of adds tonight. Probably had about 12 of them in camp as we finished the event. Lost a few peeps but we made it through. So seems to be random or linked to something we don't know yet.

Did this ring for the first time a few days ago, started killing named and we got an assload of adds (36).
Next day I went to scout around and found 2 Triums still in the ring, and targetable.
These rings are waaaaay too buggy.

Also lately there have been 2 Dusty Warders up. We just kill one and avoid the other so as not to double the ring.

I'm just curious, but are we sure these events aren't working as intended? It seems to me that while these events are fairly random, why wouldn't this randomness be *part* of the event? What better way to make things challenging than have events occur that you're not expecting?
If you always know what's going to happen, you can easily adjust your tactics to counter it, which brings the difficulty of the encounter down significantly.
It's just a thought.

I'd agree with this, but like, half the time one part of the randomness is SIGNIFICANTLY harder than another part... for instance, if only 3 trium of soils pop, normally... those are very easy to deal with, just root off while raid owns named.. But when they start spamming the protectors, you suddenly have a rztwish fight on your hands... and that becomes a serious issue if you're fighting at say, croc temple. Or zi (the mobs camp corpses, and warp back to dust named corpse if you train away.)

POEarth A is bugged beyond belief.
Its basically a simple matter of you do the rings, you take your chances.
It might be bugged today, or you might get lucky.
There is no fix, no work around, no expected Patch.
You go in, try your best and see if you get lucky.
