View Full Version : I freeze up destroying coins

I have win xp home and win 98se. Have the problem on both systems. I do not use custum UI. All drivers are updated.

This happens quite a bit on my monk. when I am destroying coins while hunting, I will occassionally freeze with the coin on my pointer.

Today, I froze and noticed that the 21 silver I had picked up was on my pointer and then suddenly there was a duplicte 21 in the coin slot in my inventory window. That's the first time I saw that happen, normally, I never paid attention, but this time I was waiting and watching.

So I dropped the 21 from the pointer into the silver slot, which gave me a total of 42 silver. Then I picked up the 42 and immediately froze.

Anyone have this happen to them and have a fix for it? I have /bug reported SOOO many times, as have others that have had this happen to them. Thanks!

It sounds almost like a connectivity issue, as the money you see on your client is only the reported amount it was given by the server, and any changes you do are totally server-side.

If you're behind a firewall I'd try it without the firewall to see if it resolves the issue, then work towards figuring out which port EQ is trying to use for monetary transactions.

I had a similar experience, the day the HS revamp went live (~28 August): I was soloing in HS and when I tried to destroy the silver I had looted, it wasn't destroyed and a second later I was disconnected.

It happened twice in 30 minutes. I /bugged it after the 2nd time. It never happened again after that (but I didn't destroy much coin after that day).

Well, after some discussion with lots of helpful folks, I "MAY" have fixed the problem. I changed my data rate to 6.0 - it was at 10.0. Interestngly enuf, it also sped up my zone times by a considerable amout. I was zoning at abot 2-5 minutes, and getting massive lag in busy zones.

Someone said DR can only be at 9.0 the highest, so mine was possibly running at 1.0 instead of the 10.0 it was set at.
