The pains i go through to play old games

tried to install and patch max payne. after the install (and after the patch) i got his error message



IKernel.exe - Application error



the instruction at "ox772200e4" referenced memory at "0x001637b8". The memory could not be "read"



Click on OK to terminate the program.



any idea how i fix this? i tried a restart, didnt help. this like mike has bad memory sticks, like my HD has a problem, or like aged games dont like XP pro?
