One sentence. Compared to all the other classes, that looks pretty pathetic.



EDIT: I've been nerfed so long that maybe this will be a helluva lot bigger than I'm expecting. If and when groups start saying with some regularity, "nah, we've got a slower, let's get a monk tank for more dps" then I may revise my opinion.

I haven't logged back into EQlive once since I started playing EQ2. No point in paying for both games, so its time to let LIVE go.

Err, I'm surprised about how all the people who have "moved on", are so quick to jump in this thread and complain. The changes were only announced a few minutes ago... <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/eyes.gif ALT=":rolleyes">



But anyway... anyone find it suspicious that no time table was given for this? I'm sure its not going in next patch. How long do you think it'll take for them to remove the mitigation nerf?

It probably won't matter with how mobs rape now or did in OoW when I was still giving them money, heh.

Well he said they were not messing with melee dps right now, so reversing the nerf is about the only main thing I see them doing right now for us.

*edit* After looking at our class top 10 again.. only thing i see they could "seemingly easy add" would be bonus for staying under weight back, but i figure what will come with more melee balancing that we have wanted for 2yrs..



I will say this.. with the fixing of return kick, dragon fang being added, and now the nerf going away... it seems soe might really be getting off thier collective butts and doing something. I wonder if WoW made them stand up and say, "WOW we need to do something".



Either way, ive been skeptical also, but I am having fun with my class the way it is now, and aslong as I am not made "worse" I am happy.

I was (obviously) pre-elemental before the nerf. I'm now Time+. I have the same AC now that I did back then.



The nerf was more than just the innate mitigation penalty, the nerf extended to the way they have itemized the entire game since that time. Wanna bet they don't go through and re-itemize PoP/LDoN/GoD/OoW/DoN and separate the monks out from the druids, and un-nerf monk itemization?



In other words, we'll likely only be getting half of the #1 thing we asked for. I'm not saying that half won't be good enough, because I don't know, but I've learned to be prepared for the worst when dealing with SOE. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/tongue.gif ALT=":p">

I don't think people understand how unbelievable this change is. If it is what they say it is, then it is the greatest thing ever to come to the monk world. The old nerf crippled us as a class. Now, we may become the most versatile class in EQ yet again... and if we are not.. I'm not expecting us to be. I am just happy we will be able to tank again. I'm going to buy an Enraging Blow aug to put on my Soulshatter right now. I'm ready to tank some DoNs and offtank some MPG trials baby! WHOO!

(By the way, They can fix the itemization by adding more ac that we get per worn or just raising the softcap)
