a monks skillz go up according to what abilitys?

(dragon punch/tail rake) (fd)

Ive heard several answers from several people.

(str)(dex)(int/wis)

OK as I beleive it to be.



STR will help offensive skill go up.

DEX will help weapon skills go up h2h 1hb and 2hb

AGI will help Defense and defensive skills go up

INT will help most other skills go up except some tradeskills.



You generally have enough time per level after about lvl 24 to max each skill al long as you tank some mobs and cycle through your weapon types. You may have some catching up to do if you burn through lvls 16 -24 in paludal caverns.



Also some of your weapon skills cap out in themid 40's and so you have some time to work on neglected skills before you hit 51 and start to raise the caps again.

Thats what I've heard too, except that str has no effect on skill ups.

One quick correction to make:



"INT will help most other skills go up except some tradeskills. "



Tradeskill increases are affected by the highest of INT, WIS, or whatever secondary stat that particular skill has (e.g. STR for Smithing).



Language skill increases seem to be based on INT alone (my 250+ WIS characters gain language skill increases much slower than my high INT characters).



Most other non-combat skill increases seem to be tied to the higher of INT or WIS.

thanks for the info.

one last newbie question.....FD is the skill im have the most trouble with, is it cosidered a (defensive) skill?<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/eyes.gif ALT=":rolleyes">

I have found nothing that makes FD go up faster, It seems to have it's own rate and that is it, just make a hotkey to



/attack off

/doability (what ever ability FD is)

/stand

/doability (Flying kick, or what ever your highest attack is)

/attack on



This not only is GREAT for raising skill it also lets you "evade" agro and literally lower agro so that you dont get beat on as much.
