Well this is more of an advanced question but I'll post it here anyhow. I've been looking into getting weapons for my monk alt and have decided to go with a KK and SoS, Now my question comes in here I noticed on allakhazam that the KK being a H2H 12/20 comes in at 1.666 and the sos being a 1HB 17/28 comes in at 1.647 also a AC being a 1HB comes in at 15/25 and is 1.666 as well so I'm curious as to how the AC wouldnt have a better or at least equal ratio to the sos as the sos is 17/28 thus giving 2 more dmg for 3 more delay.

IMO the AC is better. the stun effect makes up for any gap there is in ratio.

The ratios posted on the site are nothing more than Delay divided by Damage (with lower being better) - they are not an analysis of which is the better weapon.

28/17 = 1.647

25/15 = 1.667

20/12 = 1.667

ok so in your opinion at lv 2 would you rather go with the KK and the SoS or the KK and the AC?

.. just for the proc. Until you get a pop-bp or tri-plated hammer, that's a nice buff to have. Even if you have a better weapon, swapping in SoS to proc it is a good thing. Eventually, you'll switch to 2HB, but even then, you'll probably swap out to proc the SoS. So, the AC might be better as a weapon than the SoS, but the SoS's longevity is huge. You'll use it for a very very long time. You'll want to sell the AC pretty quick.

At Level 2, I wouldn't be using such weapons. I would get something fast, with a Damage rating of 6 or below, so that I could actually advance my weapon skills.

Also note that at Level 2, you are unable to take advantage of a weapon Damage rating higher than 10 - your SoS would only behave as a 10 Damage/28 Delay weapon.

From level 1-10 just buy a JM 9/18 because of the damage cap that Daleb stated. JMs are about 1k nowadays, ah to remember the days when they were 15k. At 10th lvl your damage cap rises to 14 so your SoS is 14/28 till level 20 when the caps are completely removed.

There's also a benefit of getting as fast of a weapon (with a decent damage, of course) into your primary, to take advantage of the damage bonus (If you are level 2 you don't need to worry about this, I think damage bonus comes into play later on). But the offhand, which recieves no damage bonus, is strictly based on the ratio of the weapon.

Not for another 26 levels, since the Damage Bonus begins at Level 28.
