I posted this a little while ago on EQToolBox and will probably do so on EQSkins and EQInterface if it gets good initial feedback.
----------------------------------------------------------
I was chatting with an enchanter friend and he was wishing he could get an on-screen timer sort of thing to help time his mezzes.
The notion I had was this: The character animation (the class specific symbol from the main inventory screen) is a series of pictures overlaid on each other at every pulse/tick, isn't it?
Given that, shouldn't we be able to create a series of small pictures that would be overlaid in sequence to create the visual of numbers counting down, or up.
If the sequence resets to the first image every time that the window with the animation loads, then it would work well for a count up sort of timer that you just pay attention to as needed. Then, when you want to restart it, just close that window and reopen it.
Frankly, I haven't researched this as yet since I am at work and don't have the files in front of me to look at, but it seems like it ought to work. Whether or not it is practical is another matter, however.
