Lets make up a list of things verant could do to nerf the uber-monk tank on raids instead of hitting everyone. Dont beat on me, Im not implying we need all that much of a change but if the monk tank is the problem then there are other ways to fix it such as:

- Put a hard cap on our AC at say 1450 ac. This is a number most warriors can reach and far surpass with equivilant uber equipment but would not put average monks who casually earned there equipment (Who i would imagine sit around 1100-1200 ac at level 60 while giving room to grow with a few really nice items.)

-Sigh..if they are going to keep the nerf in place then they need to fix the solo abilities for the little guy. How bout reducing our mend timer abit at high levels? This wouldnt make us better tanks, only better solo people.

- Sensible solution. Make warriors better tanks instead of nerfing the hell out of us. Make /shield a permanent ability with a cap of 200-250. The warriors main purpose is to take damage. This should be an inate ability on ALL THE TIME not 12 seconds.

There's no greater joy than helping people.

Other than wiping out the entire raid "by accident".

Yep if the aim was to nerf monk tanking, they should have put the defence decrease in with a (proportional) damage increase.

Therefore making monks an inferior tank, but keeping the soloing ability intact.

To be honest this seems more or a soloing nerf than a tanking nerf. (which doubly ironically hits those monks with the worst gear the hardest. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/frown.gif ALT=":("> )

I'm with Irontaail:

For me .. an answer would be:

1 - make stone stance take LESS damage then it does now, maybe extend it 6 secs more

2 - High end disc like innerflame be either longer or more damage

Personally this would do it for me 8-)

For the record, I'm at around 1140AC and occasionally solo... but mostly pull raids for a non-uber guild.

I've put up with being subpar damage wise because I was a [censored] truck...now I'm just a little midget in a jeep with a pellet gun. -- Sarthis

- Put a soft cap on our AC at something like 1200. Give diminishing returns on AC added after the soft cap. Give high-end monks the choice to max out AC, or focus on other stats. (Of course, they might have to actually implement some monk gear with other stats to make this practical.) Put our mitigation back exactly the way it was.
