For those of us that have no idea who he is, can someone summarise?

He invented Everquest.

Then, had some infamous times with Vanguard.

That's a summary. I'm in shock.

Ok so my request was a bit ambiguous ;p sorry!
I know he was on EQ, and I know he went to Vanguard, and I went and looked at his wiki page.

I was hoping someone could tell me his 'vision' for classes, or whether he was pro- or anti-monk and such. So not really biog stuff ;p

I remember we used to have vocal dev support (began with a V i think...Ned will remember most likely), and wondered where Brad 'sat'...

You know, I think this is good for our class.

Is it time for a return to the Vision(tm)?

I thought he loved rangers, or something? heh

I think he loved rangers and paladins, but what it comes down to in my mind is a return to the Vision (tm), at least in some way. He was the architect of the classes as they were in classic. Where there was very little overlap in skill sets, monks were unique, as were many classes. I have no idea what his role will be coming back and moving forward with EQ but I think that it couldn't hurt.

I'm very excited to be honest. Perhaps his return will bring back some of the things that made the classes separate and unique and exciting. Who knows, but I look forward to finding out!

Isn't prat coming back too? Prat liked us according to ned. We got this monkbros (I actually like that. Almost but not quite as cool as sunbros =/)

FYI - has has been in a "consulting" position with SOE since they bought Vanguard.

Honestly from his vague posts I think he is more here for stuff to do with Housing.

I think Prathun being Lead Dev though will help us.

His vision was such that every class and every system in place right now is absolutely nothing like he designed in the beginning.

If you logged into EQ 1999 you would not recognize the game.

A week after launch, the top Monk on my server E'ci was lv 35 and used bare hands. Monks were not designed to use weapons.

You know I would be willing to give up the stats on weapons if it would put my dps where it should be.

And that would be HUGE for the grouping monk.

Hopefully someone knows where to find the discussion that Monks not having to use weapons was "unfair".

Was it Frodlin? Or am I just feeding the legend that he is responsible for all things bad.

Also, H2H weapons didn't exist yet. That's why I believe FoF was H2H only, get us back to going "weaponless"/H2H

His first thought was probably: WTF happened to Veeshan?
