Currently at BR6 with Galaxy/CombatEngineer with one unspent point and finding that while I am very effective at repairing and setting traps my toe-to-toe offensive power is lacking. Usually if I confront an enemy I die fairly quickly, agile armour and the supressor just doesn't cut it.

BR7 I will have enough certs to get Medium Assault and while I have tried all of the weapons in the VR room I thought I would ask the opinions of some people who has been testing this game a bit longer than I.

Shotgun, Punisher or Pulsar?

Shotgun seemed fairly ineffective to me in the VR, anyone have a different view on it?

Punisher looks nice with all of the different functionality but would require a lot of inventory space to be able to use it well, something that as an Engy (who needs space for those ACEs) I don't have.

Pulsar seems fairly low on firepower but uses only one type of ammo to do both normal and AP. I am leaning towards this gun but feel that I will be outgunned by most opponents I face. Would the only advantage of this gun over the suppressor be the ammo consideration? Is that worth the 2 certs?

Another question unrelated to weapons: Can you pilot vehicles while wearing reinforced armour?

I love the shotgun at point blank range. Anything indoors is fairly easy, and I've even managed to kill a MAX with a shotgun loaded with AP rounds.

Much love for the NC Gauss for long range combat. I notice that I die a LOT to the Pulsar; seems to blow through armor without even noticing it.

You can only pilot/gun open-top vehicles in Reinforced armor. Harasser, Basi, and I think a couple of other ones. Not sure exactly what, but I know no tanks and no AMS.

There is nothing better than a shotgun when walking down a hallway in a base, or defending a tower.

It is situational but I still like it.
