View Full Version : LDoN Proc augments
I've been researching which of these to get for my weapons. I have found a great link here (http://pub146.ezboard.com/fthesafehousethebackroomsecretsspoilers.showMessag e?topicID=13621.topic) at The Safehouse but haven't seen much info here on the MB board. Anyway, I like to buy long-term so that pretty much narrows my choices down to the following:
1. Two Vampire Kiss augments (75 hp Lifetap vs. Disease -25). Cost is 1150 (x2) from Butcherblock
2. One Vampire Kiss and one Radiant Permafrost (150 hp DD vs. Cold -25). Cost is 1150 from Butcherblock and 760 from Everfrost
3. One Vampire Kiss and one Rujarkian Bile (125 hp DD vs. Poison -10). Cost is 1150 from Butcherblock and 510 from East Commonlands
4. One Radiant Permafrost and one Rujarkian Bile. Cost is 760 from Everfrost and 510 from East Commonlands
The questions I had before purchasing anything were:
- Which do you have and how do you like them?
- How often do you find them to be resisted?
- What expansion are you typically hunting in in relation to the resists question?
- Do you think that the lifetap augment is worth the added cost over the DD ones, especially for a casual player?
I'm leaning towards option #3 atm. I like the idea of having a nice lifetap proc but just don't think I will see two of them anytime soon. And although the 150 DD is a little more damage, I also think it will probably get resisted a little more since it's cold-based and most mobs seem to have a higher resist to cold over poison. Admittedly, I have nothing to really back that statement up though other than just gut feel.
Any info is appreciated. Thanks! <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/smile.gif ALT=":)">

as far as I can tell, the highest type 4 poison dd is 125. I will look again, but i couldnt find a type 4 that was 150 in EC.
I am not in game, but i just checked the merchant script and phantomraiders site and the 150dd poison is type 8 according to them.
That being said, i have the 125dd one from EC and i love it. It is rarely resisted, seems about 1 in 50 maybe. Procs a lot, i have it on my GSo4W.

The 150 dd for Rujarkian Venom is a type 8 augment so it can only be used on Time weapons.

IMO skip the cold procs all together. I have the 100 Cold DD from EF and it gets resisted quite often, when it doesn't get resisted, it's a parcial about 50% of the time. Only reason I got one is because my GM Mace looked naked w/o a proc. I'm saving the good procs (The 125 Poison DD) For when/if I get my next big weapon.

Rujarkian Bile is 125 dd proc -10 poison resist type4 and it procs a lot.
I also have Vampire Kiss 75 point Life tap on GM mace, had it proc as much 7 times on one mob and fairly low agro too.
Friends went with 150 point dd from everfrost, it is partially resisted all the time but he still gets around 115-120 even then.

Ok, I'm gonna clear up some misunderstanding about the cold procs here.<blockquote>Quote:<hr>I have the 100 Cold DD from EF and it gets resisted quite often, when it doesn't get resisted, it's a parcial about 50% of the time.<hr></blockquote>The 100 cold DD has no -modifier to resists, plus it only costs about 100 points, so you can't expect this to be the god of all procs.<blockquote>Quote:<hr>Friends went with 150 point dd from everfrost, it is partially resisted all the time but he still gets around 115-120 even then. <hr></blockquote>No. I would say it gets fully resisted occasionally and partially resisted occasionally. Keep in mind this proc has a -25 resist modifier, so it does much better than the 100 cold damage. I did ~8 hour parse on a red con mob and it had a 7% resist rate. But keep in mind this mob is red, has no debuffs, and is highly resistant. Fighting normal mobs, the resist rate is much, much smaller, but I have not calculated statistics.
I think it's a tossup between a 125 poison with a -10 mod and a 150 cold with a -25 mod. Perhaps the poison gets resisted less, but it also does less damage. I've had people say that the Ruj proc gets resisted all the time, and some say it rarely does, so I dont know what to believe. In any event, if I ever get a time weapon, I will most likely put a 150 DD poison with the -25 mod to try out a poison proc now that I've tried a cold proc.

Depends on where they are hunting. If you've doing CoD type mobs with the poison...of course its going to be resisted a lot. If you use the poison versus, say, the water wing of BoT, then its going to not be resisted as much.
Same thing goes for cold. Use the cold proc in the water wing of BoT and you're gonna hit nothing but resists. Use the Ice proc against the CoD mobs and you're going to get a lot less resists.
The above is expecting that the mobs being fought are same level/rank (rank as in yard trash mobs, named PH's, Boss, etc).

That's part of my point. Some mobs will resist either proc more than others, but overall is there going to be much of a difference? Some say yes, because less mobs are poison resistant than cold resistant. But who know if they are right.

I am using the Rujarkian Bile (125 hp DD vs. Poison -10) with my Zha for pure DPS and the Ykessha 100dd+Stun on my REBB for situations where I need to hold aggro.
This combination works really well for me.

Oh, and I liked the suggestion on the Guk proc too. After reading that, I decided that I will also work towards the 760 Guk points needed to purchase the Slimestone Fragment of Dread (Effect:Force of Ykesha: 125 pt DD + Stun) to augment my GSot4W for times when I need to hold aggro.
Thank you Goss! <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/smile.gif ALT=":)">

Just wanted to update this.
I bought the Rujarkian Bile augment (125 DD from EC camp) and used it to augment my Grandmaster's Mace. In short, I couldn't be happier with it. I have only seen it get resisted a few times actually (probably no more than any other normal DD proc off of other dropped weapons) so I feel like it was a good investment.
I also just finished up my Slave's Hidden Orb and +2 damage aug and I am absolutely loving it! I am still torn between what I should augment it with but will probably end up just saving for the 75 pt Lifetap one. It's alot of points but I like adding some diversity. Plus, lifetaps are good.
Thanks again for the feedback above. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/smile.gif ALT=":)">

Don't forget the Vampire Talon from BB 340 points and a 50hp Lifetap. That may be good for offhand.
Two lifetaps would be nice.

I have the Ruj Bile on my stone etched mallet, which when I use 1hers is always in my offhand. I have been really disappointed in this proc. Low proc rate, yeah I know is in offhand but even when I put in primary just to test proc rate it's still low imo. I get tons of resists when raiding which is mostly what I do. Mobs in fire resist this at least partially almost always and fully resist about 20 percent of the time. Numbers are off the top of my head but I am not real pleased.

I have Ruj Bile too. Parse of my current log (mostly exp mobs with no major resistances);
143 procs
2 full resists
0 partials
Permafrost Proc (offhand)
97 procs
6 full resists
0 partials
Obiviously, you're success will depend on the stuff you're fighting.
