View Full Version : Parse comparison between Zha and Shinai/Xeg

I went to PoV with my shaman today and I did little parse. Each took about little less than an hour parsing so it's not that accurate but it shows some picture.

Shinai/Xeg gave me about 155 DPS

Zha gave me about 140ish DPS

My attack was little less than 1600 at whole fight.

I was quit happy about my 1h combo DPS, however I found Zha is much easier to tank than my 1h combo. Less ripose made little difference on tanking.

One other thing, I couldn't get my parser to get my weapon proc. I was using Yalp and EQ companion, both I couldn't figure out how to add my proc on it.

Shinai, I added 150DD poison base from EC LDON. And Xeg had 50hp life tab.

Zha, I had 125DD poison base from EC LDON.

Whole fight was from front attack except at 20%, when they start to run away from me.

Next time, we get SoT drop, I might want to get that weapon. And I can get some more data from that weapon too. Stay toon <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/happy.gif ALT=":D">

as far as I know, SoT does not do significantly more damage than zha (the ratio is almost the same, the proc/db is where SoT has the advantage), and SoT did less damage than shinai/timeweaver before sinister strikes.

And since so far, our GoD weapons are 1hb... seems like they've decided to nerf us back to 1h weapons.

Thank you for performing that parse. Do you plan to do a more controlled, longer duration one on our frnd the researcher?

Not that it means anything anymore.

yes, I am planning to put longer data for more accurate DPS for both combination. I might throw in REBB dps as well.

Having tanked next to a fellow monk both with capped worn atk and basically identical AA's both offensively and defensively in Earth trials in PoTime the SoT is noticeably more damage than a Zha. Example would be he averaged approximately 10% more mob damage (his was at 15% health while mine was at say 25%) over the course of offtanking mobs pretty reliably. What does this equate to? Hell if I know I don't have a parse .. but having seen it myself over weeks of doing Earth trials I would have to say it would be in the ball park of 15-20dps difference. /shrug. Your mileage may vary.

Savager when you do add more parsing info please do include how the ReBB stacks up to all of that, would be interesting to see how a MSS stacks up to that also.

REBB and MSS would get blown away. 'Nuff said.

According to a post by Brodda along time ago, SOT is about 13 dps more than Zha. It's buried here somewhere.

Yeah, it is all in the damage bonus. Though, with your example, he may have had double riposte and you didnt?
