View Full Version : umm this may sound weird but did anyone else notice...
EQ and PS went down at the same time last night???
I know its the same company but I figured the equipment/comp/server stuff would be in different buildings and such.
I wonder if when EQ/EQ2/SWG/PS are all running at the same time if one drops they all will...
Anyone know how they have there stuff set up over there in Cal?

Would make sense to have it all in the same building... Servers require alot of maintanence and proper operating conditions (like dust-free rooms and air conditioning to keep 'em cool). Having them all in different buildings just means you have to pay double the operating costs.

I recall one time in chat when servers took a horrible dive smoke mentioned “I am talking with out hardware guys in San Diego.”

Servers at the San Diego base are for all Sony online games (with a few backups for tests and chat/maintenence servers at Austin, TX.) They are in kindof two buildings, but the buildings are linked. There are a couple of rooms, but they're all somewhat networked because they can share power that way. It should not be the case, to my knowlege, that anything should bring them down in domino effect.
