Your burger-fu might already be strong, but this one is pretty solid:

This guy reverse-engineered the In'N'Out Double-Double Animal Style, which, for anyone in doubt, is probably the single best *fast-food* burger on the planet.

Note that the recipe (top right) produces two double cheeseburgers. It's actually probably easier to make 10 double burgers than it is to make 2, assuming you have a big enough frying surface.

I've got an In'N'Out a mile away.. gotta say as good as they are I wish I had a Five Guys closer. From the pic that looks spot on though!

Haven't had a Five Guys so I can't comment on that, but I definitely learned some things about making good burgers from this recipe, even though I already had decent burger-fu.

I just dont find 5 guys all that special.

Fatburger is a bit better but still...for the most part, a burgers a burger.

My work's Spam-Fu says no go on that website. :( I'll have to find out about grilling at home.

I am sticking to 2200 calories a day, and I think that would be at least half of that! Holy crap does it look yummy though.

I can testify that a homemade Animal Style Burger is some serious chit.

Before i followed that link, i figured in and out was something i could do without being in ohio.

Then i learned two magical things. Carmalized onions, and mustard cooked patty. These things interest me and I would like to subscribe to its newsletter.

The reason In and Out are not more widely distributed is that - get this - they want all locations to be within one day's drive of their slaughterhouse so that the beef is always fresh and never has to be frozen.

You are correct in recognizing the onions and the mustard as important.

I made these at home, and if I do say so myself, they rocked.
