Question for you UI gurus...

I am modifying Geist's UI.



Ok I am trying to add a label for the current weight to the Player window. I am trying to place it next to the ATK value.



Couple of questions.





Is this even possible? Or only certain information is allowed? I tried first removing it from the Inventory window and got an error.



I then decided to not remove it from Inventory and just add it to the player window in place of ATK. Same result.



Any wisdom or insight into how this might work?

Some tips:



Every Element MUST have a Different Item= name. Everything can remain the same. I bet you got the duplication error message?



If the UI crashes cause you deleted something from a file, ie deleted the PetHP Gauge and the <Pieces>PetHP</Pieces> from the PlayerWindow.xml file, it can't be removed.



Anything with an EQType can go into any window. Removing current ones from any window is the only question.



Look in your EverQuestUIErrors.txt file for a Complete error message as to why your UI didn't load or why EQ crashed. ( Go fig, EQ was able to capture the error just fine, but yet it can't stop itself from crashing )

I just found the xml at the bottom that lists both the window size and each element of the window. That should clear up the rest of the problems (knowing what the size of the window is for placement of the text and getting the CurrentWeight to load).



I've got to admit, that I had never intended to load that certain windows program until I started moding the UI. After the first time I changed the xml, loaded EQ, got an error...and realzied I had to go thru the whole process over again...I went to that unmentionable domain and downloaded the program. That is a Godsend for trying to mod the UI.

I think it is all a sting to figure out the people who use that certain unmentionable program and ban them <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/laugh.gif ALT=":lol">
