just unzip it in uifolderkunis

you must copy the window_piecesXX.tga in the default directory and bypass the patch server (otherwise it will download once again the default tga files).

you can however patch the game if you want, just copy the tga BEFORE clicking on the "play" button.

i play at 1024x768 (since that is the max resolution my lcd screen can do)

recent edits - removed the names of the boxes- shrunk down the buff box some- going to be keeping an eye on what comes out to integrate. switched target box until i figure out what change in equi_animation to make me crash when i try to bazaar.

My base resolution is 1024X768, (I resized the screenshot for posting purposes here) and I used a viewport setting of 0 0 824 618 to make the viewable window (if you don't keep a 4:3 screen ratio, the stuff shown in that area doesn't retain the proper aspect ratios).

The map mod is the same one everyone else is using.. except I went through the boring process of resizing maps from other sources and replacing the maps that came with the mod. I am still not done.. I have done Velious.. Luclin.. Kunark.. Fay and Odus.. I still have to do Antonica east and west. Not all the maps I used came from eqatlas.. just some did.. I used maps from all over the place, depending on what looked the best to me. EQatlas I used predominately mainly because those are the best maps for many zones, and also sized almost perfectly for the mapgui.

So basically I loved the mod.. but hated the maps that came with it.

Here's my UI. I made things bigger because after playing at 800x600 for over 3 years, I couldn't handle the transition to the puny buttons and health bars at 1280x1024. I made my flying kick and mend hotkeys green when available so that I could see them out of the corner of my eye (like the old hotkey contrast). Misc. armor slots next to my hotkeys are for my personal, easy right-click access.

Some people wanted to see how my windows are set up.

I have 7 chat windows up at all times. 3 of them are usually minimized unless I need them (ports, auction, serverwide.monklybusiness)

/Tells to me go into their own window, so I can stay online all day long while afk and in trader mode, and I dont lose a single /tell.

My damage, emotes, misc messages, and some spell messages go into the window on the lower left corner.

Directly next to that window is a tiny window that is used only for other peoples hits. I have hitsmode showing only the numbers. This is really helpful because if you have everyones hits off, you may not realize that a fight is going on near you.

Pretty much everything else goes into the main chat window: guildsay, groupsay, pulling channel, raid channel, my getting attacked messages, etc.

i would recommend against distributing those eqatlas maps. they are copyrighted. WHich is why we didnt use them to start with.

Here you are. It is for 1280*1024 resolution only and in the folder is a file named UI_Yourname_Server.ini that you need to rename and put in your Everquest folder.

I havent really done anything in coding (besides changing the position of the targetbar), just changed the hotkeys from horizontal with inventory to a normal one and got rid of petwindow, and as such I could move some windows around to make it smaller. So no idea how to shrink it for 1024 resolution. :(

Dhavol, that is the best UI setup I've seen! All I can think of to add would be a few slots to the right of the hotkeys for clickies and switching and stuff, but I'm completely clueless with XML, do you have any idea how to do that? i also am trying to use the Dhavol setup. but its not working. i have created a new folder (newui) that is located right next to my default folder. i have copied the defaults into the newui folder. i then downloaded dhavol's setup into the newui folder.

it doesn't appear that anything needs unzipped. (could be my problem) yet its a 4.2ish meg file. i go in game and type /load newui and nothing happens.

Several tools you can use to edit your UI.

Depends on what you are looking for.

Several different very good XML editors out there.

If you wan to view your files out of game, try sidlwidl. (www.sidlwidl.com).

Kunis Marfury, you have the best UI I have ever seen. It's just really clean, and the window colors are very nice. To tell you the truth, it's probably the first custom UI i've seen that I liked, most others seem way too cluttered, and then the simple ones are wayyy too simple. And why do so many people change the window colors so much? It just looks ugly when you change it into a BRIGHT color. Anyway, I just wanted to tell you that I liked it.

Here's a pict of the UI I use.

Under the misc chat window is my "hitsmode" window. Setup to disappear after X seconds.

The Spell casting Bar is located under the Compass, not viewable until you cast.

The buff numbers are also setup to disappear after 10 seconds.

Found this on EQ interfaces. Very nice, pretty simple, best of all it is about 50% transperancy so I can the screen does not feel cluttered. I also like how everything fits so well together. I am running at 1280 x 1024.

as you guys know i play several difernt classes so i kinda made what i think is the best player info window for me .

i also did a special horizontal and vertical versions of 10 hotkey plus 8 inventory slots plus weapon slots ( will make an improved version with 3 rows showing inventory clicky slots so we dont have to use in hotkeys .

also done a inventory window that has huge done and destroy buttons and the coins like silver and copper happen to be very near the destroy button also .

so far only have my player info window at eqinterface but will put others up

its specificaly designed for top left corner to be put over lag meter and also if you like 100% fade the numbers still show up very well ( i use 100% fade )
