Shinai isn't much aggro, i group with a monk alot who uses Shinai / Timeweaver and i use SoT exclusivly.
I have WA5 and with the SoT, i constantly pull aggro. I have to be really careful and generally if i get first swing procs i considor myself unlucky rather than lucky <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/grin.gif ALT=" >D"> . Like anything though it's just about aggro control.
When we both use SoT though, well, i'd let the staffs proc take credit for a lot of near death situations which could have destroyed our tank (Ikkinz trial 1, first named).

A warrior with a BoW and WA5 won't hold aggro off a monk with a SoT and WA5. Sad, but true.
Even DBoW/EoE combos with Anger augs can have difficulty in xp group settings.
Just cycle FD as though you are fighting a raid boss, and it's all good. I've got RS5, WA5, and KM3, using a SoT with Ruj poison proc (150dd) aug, and I pull aggro like no one's business, even off our top two wars in single group settings. I've just taken to cycling FD all the time now unless I'm duoing...in which case I love that I generate enough aggro to keep my shaman safe even with Slow, Cripple, and the occasional spam Tnargs.

Well, holding aggro is very subjective. I can group with 2 warriors with near identical gear (Raex BP, DBotW, and EoE) and have no issues with unwanted aggro with 1 and constantly having to feign off aggro with the other.
That said, I "seem" to have an easier time keeping a low aggro rating with Shinai and only use my SoT when I plan on tanking. When I do get aggro from Shinai it would appear to come from good streaks of fast hard hits.

i gank agro from a warrior with BoW <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/frown.gif ALT=":(">
So i could only imagine what its like with SoT <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/ohwell.gif ALT=":">

I have WA4 currently and get aggro pretty easy with SoT if I don't smack my FD evade hotkey.
For a real good time though, I use Intimidation and Disarm as well on the mob.
I love challenging warriors in phase 1 trials at times. Hell, I can give a hybrid a good run if I get a lot of procs off the bat and Intimidation hits a few times. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/roll.gif ALT=":rollin">

I got shinai recently, and was surprised to find out that it doesn't pull aggro at all. With atk debuff from the proc, I was expecting a lot more aggro.

Yeah I take agro alot from my SoT as well. I haven't got my shinai yet. I am due for it though, but using crudgle of wrecking duoing with my puresteel wraps I find agro is not an issue.

I agree 100% with this statement.
Depends on the warrior and how often they use all their taunting abilities. I have drawn aggro from some warriors and then there are other warriors that pull aggro off me quite fast considering they were on a mob while I was offtanking another. They killed theirs ,came to assist on mine and quickly drew aggro off me . I deliberately did not fd on purpose to see if they "could" draw aggro off me or how long till they did.
Ive grouped with some warriors that I have to fd on and others I dont at all. By the way AA is a HUGE factor for warriors and not just equipment. Some warriors in XP groups are also just too lazy to taunt.
You can tell an attentive/good warrior right from the start. When I pull a mob to camp the good warrior has already taken aggro off me before I get hit by the mob. The not as good warrior will only get aggro off me after I or the slower has been hit for a few rounds by the mob.

OMG ain't that the truth! Same goes for Pallies, and SK's. How hard is it in group settings for the MA to hotkey /assist Genshin and grab agro on incoming instead of waiting till after I take 5 or 6 hits, AND my shaman has already Malo'd and Slowed the mob before engaging. I have seen warriors do this consistantly.
I can keep agro of my shaman even while casting Malo while incoming, then immediately casting slow and I don't have anything gearwise to write home about. Why warriors cannot?
Beyond me.

the question was about WA5 with shinai or SoT proc.
nahsai gave a god answer to it. dont discuss about warrior agro and skill in general <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/smile.gif ALT=":)">
