FFT-Tactics had the sweetest plot of all time. It could have been a movie it was so good.

hardly.

FFT has a horrible story. a story that NOBODY can understand unless they're on crack, is NOT a good story. sure it's complicated enough, and i'm sure it made sense to the writers, who had SOURCE MATERIAL that they were working with and not just the perspective of ramza.

FFT has a flat out horrible story. I've beaten it many times and it still makes little sense in too many ways. Tactics Ogre (the snes/psx one, havent finished the GBA one) has a MUCH better and more cohesive story. but for an FF game, I stick with 4. FF4 is the best on so many levels.

never played the tactics ogre for SNES buy i have played Ogre Battle...not the same game im assuming?

not remotely.

Tactics ogre for the GBA has the engine essentially ripped out of the snes one. same graphics and everything, but totally seperate story, its not part of the main 'ogre battle' storyline.

Tactics Ogre for snes/psx is part of the main storyline, it takes place after ogre battle...i think ogre battle is chapter 3 and tactics is chapter 5? it might be 5 and 7, regardless its like 2 chapters later. Thus it has Lars, Canopus, and uh...crap, the main wizard guy, in it.

And Canopus is basically orlandu for the game heh.

Yeah in ogre battle canopus was the epitome of suck...except to use as a group leader to do things like finding towns/treasure...



but i liked lars...he was in my death squad group ahah



maybe ill see if i can find tactics ogre anywhere...



and yeah...TO: Knight of Lodis is like a side story...still fun tho

yeah canopus and his hawkmen blew in ogre battle, but trust me he's like the best character that you have for most of the game in TO. High hp, very high movement, great with spears (which hit 2 people at once), nothing not to like. has some special spells too if i recall.

well and since you are reading this thread and i dont really wanna start a new one...Have you played Chrono Cross, LEgend of the Dragoon, LEgend of Mana, star ocean 2, and uhhh...dragon warrior VII?



If so are they any good? i got me a PSX not too long ago, and when im done with FF9 i need a new rpg to play, and those (plus the tales series which i knowyou hate) are the ones im lookin at

FF7 all the way. Man what awesome characters and storylines. Plus all the side stuff you could do (Golden Saucer, Chocobo Racing) was great!

ff7 blows. the characters are horrible, and the minigames are SOMEWHAT fun, but the actual amount and depth of side quests is quite low for an FF actually.

Chrono Cross is excellent. Xenogears is excellent, if you can find it I really like the first Wild ARMs game.
