Hi all,

I no longer play EQ but im always around the boards still. I just bought Dark age of camelot and am looking forward to it. A few quick questions.

1) WHat is hte maximum level?

2) For durability, the % = number of times it can be fixed before becoming useless?

3) and suggestions for first type? I know i wanna start in albion.

Thanks!

~Drew

Maximum level is 50. Try to get items repaired by a player, that way you wont lose as much durability. I play a friar and a paladin and like them both very much.

Suggestions coming from a 50 warden and 35 ranger. Whatever you do, don't play Hibernia. Of course, my second set of advice is don't play DAoC :P

Top level is 50

Easiest way to play the game is just level and not worry to much about the money you need to purchase armor. When you get to level 30ish, money becomes almost completely worthless, and you can get all the armor and stuff you need out of darkness falls.

And finally, once again, never ever play Hibernia. You'll be sorry you did :) Albion is good to start on, it's the nicest looking realm, the most friendly, has the most quests, has a lot of good classes, and basically is the only realm that Mythic actually finished before releasing the game.

To answer you question on durability relating to number of times an item can be repaired:

The lower your condition the less effective the item is. Most obvious on weapons & armor. iE: 92% con weapon will hit for 8% less dmg then at 100% condition.

Most people know this, however, not too many seem to realize the relationship of con to dur.

Simply, the lower your items con when repaired, the more durability will lower. Try to repair your items before they go below 98%.

Also, armor & weapons of 100% quality, (dropped or crafted) have a bonus pool of durability. Not sure of the amount, but you get a good amount of "free" repairs. That is, zero dur loss on repairs, especially when repairing at 98 or 99%.

As for crafter versus NPC repairs, always try to find a crafter to repair. Do not use the window interface repair option, just drop the items one at a time and hav the crafter repair that way. Comparing both methods, the window interface sucked away almost 50% more durability.

Last tip, any crafter of appropriate skill can repair the items of their skill, and can also repair the trinket items. Cloaks, bracers, necklaces, rings.

If you have the misfortune of choosing Hib as your main realm, look me up, I play on Gawaine. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/smile.gif ALT=":)">
