View Full Version : EQ Adventures
So has anyone been accepted to the Beta test phases for this and actually played it? I signed up awhile ago on a whim thinking I might have a network adapter and just got the CD in the mail today. Supposedly they have all the classes and races in it according to the letter that came with it. Don't know how well it's going to work but figured I'd ask you guys if you have played it at all.

of the 4 people interested in beta, probably none or one of them have a network adapter sadly =/
Sony's left hand really wants to kick it's right hand's ass I'd guess (EQA is still scheduled to come out pretty soon, and they're gonna get like NO quality beta since nobody has a network adapter due to SCEA not sending out many).

Actually they are quite available around where I live last time I was out at the game stores. I think 2 of the 4 stores I went to had a bunch, but the last time I was out was right after they came out heh.

actually...there's quite a bit of testing going on.
Most of it, like most of Sony's Beta testing is done by 12 year olds who are finding exploits then simply exploiting them instead of reporting them.
I swear, you need to give a personal CC number or something to sign up for Betas. These 12 year olds are getting on my nerves.

Sony? Quality Beta Testing? *chuckles* I do my best, but I'm only one man.

I'd recommend buying them and selling them on ebay =p
most places sold out the day they got them, and sony isn't shipping more until early december i think.

if you want to get your playstation 2 online dont buy the adapter, it's overpriced. Go to like a best buy or something and pick up a USB Adapter for like 15-20 bucks. It's an adapter that you plug your ethernet cable into one end and the other end has a usb cable that plugs right into your playstation. check it out works awesome that's what i put in mine out of couriosity .

the sony NA has both a ethernet jack and a modem built in, its like getting 2 components for a decent price (for those of us who still have to live with dial up)

Well I got the last NA at babbages last night. The guy there said that it was the last one within a hundred miles or so that he knew of.
First impressions of the game are decent for a beta 2 phase game. There's no NDA now so more info about the gameplay should be popping up. Graphics are so-so, expected better really, hopefully they'll be revamped before release. I started a monk (duh lol) and you start out in qeynos. There's no iksars or vah shirs. You buy abilities like spells and you only get 5 hotkey slots that i've figured out to have ready. Monks do get spells, I have inner fire, which I think is a str buff but could be an hp buff like the shaman line in eqpc. Quests are pretty straight forward, go get this and quest is over. I'm at the point where I have to level to get my next one so i'll be posting more info on the game as I progress though it.
Also the main concern in beta phase 2 seems to be server stability, so it goes down quite a bit.
