This second poll takes its lead from the first in which you were asked to relate how you play your monk. The question for this one is as follows: If you had the option to quit your current job and be paid to play your monk full time at a similar pay, would you do it? For those currently unemployed, try to consider the question in context as if you had a current paying job.

The reason I enjoy my monk so much (and the game in general) is because it is an escape from real life and the daily grind.

If EQ became the sorce of my income I'm sure it wouldn't be long before it was a daily grind and I was seaking something else to relax over.

So the question effectively was would you give up your current job to be paid to spend that same time in your number one hobby? Wow, tough question.

The failing of balance is in the simplicity of melees. Make us more complex. check!

Break the single mob mentality. Make encounters more difficult, not harder.

.. that this was refering to the pre-POP monk before the AC nerf and before FFXI, I'd have chosen "Yes, in a heartbeat". I'm playing FFXI now and frankly there is just no way I'll give up something that nice to go back to a game as poorly maintained as EQ. At this point, even a pre-POP balance wouldn't entice me back.

In order to get me to come back to EQ, SOE needs to not only truly fix the horrendous balance issues, but they also need to undergoe a fundamental change in management styles. They need to acquire integrity. The current way they treat customers is completely unacceptable. You couldn't pay me to play EQ again.

Yes, the game may still kind of be like work now, but it is still a hell of a lot more fun then what most college students do for cash. Still got to move my scedual around to be on important raids, but at least it's pay. Also, is there overtime? I assume bazaar muleing is non pay unless you are at the keyboard. Or, is this more like a salary where I have to make constant objectives, and meat them? Could guild politics get involved, and could there be lay offs?
