*Update*

This discipline was fixed with today's patch and is now working. Thanks Prathun for the quick response!

*Update*

Secrets of Faydwer, as could be expected, introduced an Echo of Misdirection upgrade. Also expected, it was merely a level cap boost, and Echo of Deception should've been functionally identical to it's predecessor.

It wasn't.

Currently, as some of you have found out in-game, this discipline is working incorrectly. It currently only hits a single target (not necessarily the one you cast it on either) unless the other targets are somehow forced to be non-agro (lulling them for example), in which case it will also hit the lulled NPC's.

I attended the 11/16/07 Dev Chat at MMORPG and managed to sneak in a question about the state of the discipline. Here is the appropriate excerpt-

MMORPG_Taera: Wycca :asks: Prathun, currently the new monk Echo is only hitting 1 target at a time, is this intended?

EQ_Prathun: Aside from the resist modifier, which appears to be too low on Echo of Misdirection... Echo of Misdirection and Echo of Deception are functionally identical.

EQ_Prathun: They are targeted AEs with a range of 200 and an impact radius of 30. They'll hit anything within that radius.

EQ_Prathun: This means, of course, that nearby mobs must be within 30 units of your target to be affected by the Echo.

EQ_Prathun: I'll look at fixing the resist mod on Misdirection. ;)

Over the next few days, as you can see discussed at - http://www.monkly-business.net/forums/showthread.php?t=17156 - we believe we had discovered the problem, which was forwarded to Prathun.

Prathun responded today with -

Aye, I think that’s what is causing the difference in behavior. I’ll look into it.

So while the bug with this discipline has not yet been fixed, it is being looked into, and we can likely see resist improvements. Until then, please be aware that our pulling abilities are somewhat crippled. This is mainly a problem with speed, but as some of you have seen in Tier 3+ group zones (Gryospire Zeka, Meldrath's Mansion, Crystallos, etc), it pretty much makes the bulk of those zones impossible to be Monk-pulled.

Please refer all discussion to the thread linked above, and look for any future updates here on Monkly Business.
