View Full Version : %t troubles...
Recently I noticed that in my hot keys, occasionally my %t tag will actually change to the target name...Or even in one case, to an NPC name...
Example: I have my assist key as
/assist %t
Last night in Maiden's Eye, I used the key like 3 times then noticed it stopped working so I went to edit it and saw that it said
/assist a goranga scout
This also happened a day or two ago in Sebilis. The %t changed to the MA of my group and when I was in a second group with a new MA, the assist button wasnt working.
Is this happening to anyone else?
</p>
Why bother putting %t in at all? Seems like if you are going to target the person you're assisting, simply making a hotkey with "/assist" would work fine. Or am I missing something?
</p>
Assist with %t does this for some reason. Usually if I am assisting someone in my group I hit the F2-F6 that corresponds to their number and then mash my /assist button. Or for raids and such I have a key setup where I type in /assist "name" with the name of my main assist. Have another setup for secondary assist the same way.

/assist
by itelf will automatically assist what you have targetted... there is no logical reason you need to have %t on your /assist key..
/assist saoshen
will always assist only me...
/attack off
/target secondassistname
/target mainassistname
/assist
will let you keep 2 tanks on your assist key without redoing them when they die or leave.. just keep the highest priority name on the line above the /assist line..
you can turn on and off attack on assist using...
/assist on
/assist off

I had the same problem last night.
I use %T when calling in a pull.
gsay Incoming %T - Lets get it.
When I saw in in Gsay, it came across as, "Incoming - Lets get it"
Thoughts?

Was happening to me too, but I believe the people of your group might have seen it correctly although you did not. A Rogue in my group asked m why I kept changing the format, and the target name was appearing for everyone else, although I saw a blank space.

There is appearantly now a difference between %T and %t. %T will not echo back to you the correct NPC name, and on PCs it does some really funky stuff (mine kept repeating the last line I /say'd). Use %t and it should be okay. Except on /assist, as it has no point being there. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/smile.gif ALT=":)">
