Anyone have any suggestions on a good beer/ale to try? I like Redstripe okay, and something like Flat Tire, or Fat Tire was going pretty good when I drank it so I can't remember for sure. I don't usually like the really dark ones, so if it is akin to Guinass then I probably won't like it.

I would prefer something that is at least mildly easy to find. Just as long as I don't have to get some guy named Guido to import it for me.

Canada has the best beer!

Kokanee is my favorite

If you can get it (which I really doubt), Nelson Afterdark is my favorite (from Nelson BC Canada).

New Castle is a good dark beer. I also like Arrogant Bastard Ale.

I got 12 bottles of Trappist Ale's for my birthday a few weeks back, all import stuff. Trappist is the name given to beers brewed by monks. Really good stuff.

Well Tamsin's recommendation is getting tried first. Being as the big liquer store in town actually had some on the shelf, though not his personal flavour. So I'll let ya know how it goes later after they get cold.

Okay, the jury is waiting. How'd the taste test go? Or do you remember? :P

Good stuff, although it's much better draft than bottled.

Okay I didn't get the exact flavor he advised (because they didn't have it). It wasn't bad, had a really odd aftertaste, but then again it was a very dark one. (the bottle fooled me, thought it was a brown bottle, however it was clear and the beer was just that dark) However my old roommate's girlfriend was over and she drank all the rest of it before I even realized it. Evidently she fell in love with the stuff.

On new years I'm going to pick up some of the rest of it since they stocked the one Soygen recommended. Also if they have a different flavor of the Sam Smith kind I'm going to try it since a lighter version would be pretty good.

Its not beer, but a cider, I drink Strongbow a lot. I prefer it on tap or from the bottle. I hate the cans.
