View Full Version : /Unable to load skin "x" loading default

anyone have this problem when loading a custom UI? I did all the copy of the default into a new folder and then added in some custom made ones. When I try and load it in game I get the message of error loading "x" skin (or ui..forgot the wordage) and then reverts to the default folder. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thx

Look at the UIErrors.txt file in your EQ folder. That will tell you what the problem was, up to you to fix it then =)

When mixing and matching different mods, I found sometimes the mods would duplicate item names, this is something that the UI doesnt like, so loads the default for you.

ok you know that copying the default folder thing you did? well that's the mistake. That is not the way to install ui's anymore, leave your default folder alone. Download your UI and make a folder in the Ui directory (probably c<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/ohwell.gif ALT=":"> programfileseverquestuifiles) unzip the download into that file (remember what you named it) and load it the same way you did the old ones while in the game. DONT do anything with the default files

Also remember that some downloads you have to do a bit more with, so always check out the read me files of your download.

Doh, forgot one thing, when you unzip those files into your folder make sure theres no other folders in there with the same name as the folder you just made.

When you click on that folder you should automatically see all the files in there. If you see a folder in there and no files, click on that folder ->select all and copy than go back to where that folder was, -> paste and delete that folder
