You probably did the same thing I did, couldn't figure it out for two days. Try checking where you unzipped the files to. I'm almost 100% positive when you extracted it to the folder it also made its own folder inside the one you extracted to. If not I don't know

unless you forgot to write this it sounds liek you omitted copyin the default folder
1. donwload the new skin
2. go to eq directory/uiskin(or whaterver it's called)
3. go into your default folder, click edit ->select all, edit ->copy
4. creat a new folder under uiskin directory
5. go into that folder click edit =>paste
6. extract the downloaded skin into that new folder that you just made, make sure you click YES when it prompts you and asks you if you want to override the current files.
If this dont work just go to any of the sites whree you can download skins from and check out their site for help. Everyone of them has instructions on how to install new skins
good luck

Quote:
unless you forgot to write this it sounds liek you omitted copyin the default folder

This is no longer needed. As of a patch or two ago, if it can't find the file in the current UI folder, it pulls it from the default UI folder.

Here's your answer, I just did the same thing the other day.
THe Skins directory is for the PATCHER graphics. Not many know this, but the patcher window is skinnable.
You want the UIFiles directory (I think, at work and can't check), It also has a 'Default' subdirectory. That's where stuff should be unzipped, etc.
If all else fails, splat 'em out on both, can't hurt anything unless somehow you try to tell the patcher to use a different skin. =)
Is it my place (http://www.nailedfrog.com/~erikc/blog) to put a smile (http://www.diligencecrew.com) on your face?
