View Full Version : Bug with player-made skins?
I've been running 1024x768 mode with a skin I created myself. Everything seems to work fine except the texture that I put in place of light rock .tga. The filename is still exactly the same so it isn't that. I've also tried it with Geist's skin and still get the same thing. The dark rock texture shows up but not the light rock texture. It just loads the default one. Anyone got any ideas as to what might be wrong?

This is a bug in VI's code.
Right now the game isn't properly loading player made .tga files: wnd_bg_light_rock.tga and window_pieces01-05.tga
Nothing we can do but create our mods with unique graphic names, now. In a way that's not a bag idea, but just kind of sucks for the XML "coding".

I got mine to load somehow. I copied my custom TGAs into the default directory, camped, and logged back in... it all displays fine now for some reason.

So in essence I could just edit EQUI_Templates.xml and change every instance of the wnd_bg_light_rock.tga to my_whatever.tga? Why doesn't that work?

That works, but not good practice. When you restart EQ from desktop, those files are going to get rePatched.

That will almost work. You'll need need one line change in the EQUI_Animation.xml files as well.
Then it will work.

Here is the trick...
Load up your mod like you normally would.
Camp to desktop
Open the file eqclient.ini
Find the line Uiskin=Default
Change Default to the name of the folder of your skin.
Seems that due to this tag in the .ini some UI elements were being called from the default folder instead of your mod folder.
