This sauce has been a family tradition for us for a long time. We mix up our meals every year; chicken, steak, turkey, but the serving sauce is the same every year. I only make it the last 4 months of the year to maintain it's special nature but any time of the year, it would still be as excellent:
1 cup Catsup
¾ cup peeled, seeded, and chopped tomatoes
½ cup chopped green sweet pepper
2 tablespoons chopped onion
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 to 2 tablespoons A1 steak sauce
1 to 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce
½ teaspoon garlic powder
¼ teaspoon nutmeg
¼ teaspoon cinnamon
¼ teaspoon cloves
1/8 teaspoon ginger
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
Combine everything in a medium sauce pan. Bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 5 minutes or till sweet pepper is crisp-tender. Remove from heat. Serve warm or cold. Refrigerate remaining sauce.
