Looking for some new ideas for shrimp. I've become the guy who brings shrimp to the bbq, and usually i just marinate them in a store bought sauce and kabob them.

need something new to surprise people with.

Myself i mix some curry wtih Coconut milk and leave the shrimps in a ziploc bag for a night or so in the fridge. They are so damn yummy on the grill!

I was lazy mind you, i bought some curry paste think it's Patak brand but not sure, maybe something called Mandala, cant remember the brand and i am at work right now.

One thing tho, it's way easy to make and it's yummy as hell (if you like curry)

sokay, so i think i've got a good one. (note: lazy and not professional, cheat whenever possible)

2lbs of shrimp (i used pre cooked, cocktail)
1 jar of crushed garlic
1 lemon
handfull of fresh rosemary
tabasco
Basil infused olive oil.
1 red bell pepper
1 green bell pepper
kosher salt

I combined the oil, tabasco, rosmary(minced) and 2 tablespoons garlic in a microwave safe bowl and microwaved on low for 20 min, to infuse the oil. meanwhile i washed and hit the shrimp with the lemon juice from 1 lemon and a pinch or 2 of salt.

once oil is ready, let cool to room tepature and combine with shrimp in a ziplock back, and let marinate in fridge overnight.

Kabob them with a piece of bell pepper in between, 5 shrimp to a kabobm grill for about 3 min on a side.

good shit.

I have terrible luck with shrimp, I've tried a few times, always using fresh uncooked.... mostly, I make rubber chew toys for the dogs :(

You simply cook them too long. Shrimps dont need much cooking at all.

When cooking shrimp on a high heat grill try this.

Give them 2 minutes exactly on one side, then flip them.

The moment they look almost but not quite completely cooked ( color change will tell ) remove them. You may have to lift a shrimp and look under it.

If you remove them just before they look completely cooked, and pile them on a plate, they will finish cooking on the plate. Trust me.

BTW I am extremely allergic to shrimp but make it for my family and they love it. Of course it sucks having to wear gloves to do it, and having to wipe down everything, including the grill, with a good soaking of vinagre after heheh.

Put some tinfoil down on the grill, and punch some holes into it. That's all you need to do to the grill.

For the shrimp. Melt some butter, mix in garlic, pepper, and tobasco sauce to taste. Toss the shrimp on the foil and slather on your butter mixture.

Cook until done. Tada, shrimp.

Nice thing about doing it this way is you can do any size of shrimp, and/or butterfly them as well.
