so if i get this right, i am going to have massive problems soloing blues or light blues in the 50s?



am i going to be a level 60 that gets slowed by a level 30?



am i going to have to sell all on this monk and create a freaking strictly-made-for-grouping character?

It isn't soloing itself (killing things) that has been hurt, it is the exp gained from doing so vs lower level mobs.

You make it sound like people don't want monks in groups. We are very group friendly. In any case, they might be fixing that whole lower exp thing with this next patch.

just to help you out: i play my monk because i love to solo, and like to occasionally group.

Alot of the bitching so far is comeing from 60's for the most part (At least that *I* have seen) working on are AAXP. You have a way's to go till your at the point and hell they made (if i read the patch massage right) easyer for you to get to 60.



Don't let anyone fool you, a good group in CT-Deep Chardok ect. was aways better exp than soloing in say FG or velks. I honestly want to think VI really just wanted to make the R-VS.-R in those zone's better for the people that did it, some how down the line they DID fuck up and i hope to god they fix it.



Point is don't close thecoffin on your monk just yet, give it some timeand lvl's to see where thedust falls. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/smile.gif ALT=":)">

I just have one thing to say...... NO ONE HARDLY WANTS TO GROUP WITH A F'ING MONK!!!!!! ARRRGGGG. yada yada everyones gonna tell me yeah they do. only for pulling and only in raids is the monk wanted. theres not upteen pulling spots in a group.





Im not saying its like being a necro. But until monks can do more than bind wound to heal. Or they can mez mobs or tank as good as a warrior. PEOPLE ONLY WANT THOSE GUYS 55+

Everyone tells me that monks are group friendly, but damned if I see it either. I can sit lfg for hours in <pick a zone, any zone, I've tried em all> watching the level 60's get snapped up damn near instantly, and my guild is grabbing me almost daily to pull something for them (Never get groups with guildies either, but thats a seperate topic <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/ohwell.gif ALT=":"> )

I thought getting a group was an issue as well, but instead I think it becomes easier as you become known with more people. Eventually you get a group, and if you know your class, the people you group with should come away thinking "that monk knew what he was doing, maybe I'll pick him/her up next time we have a spot and I see them LFG". Hang out in the one zone for a while, have this happen a couple of times and life should become simpler.



Just a thought, and call me crazy, but I just thought of a potential new monk ability that would only impact others in a group, rather than our own effectiveness. Give monks (maybe only Quellious monks?), ONLY when sitting, the ability to use a mantra that provides a low rate of added mana regeneration for all group members. It wouldn't make a huge difference, but it would provide some extra group benefits making a monk a bit more valuable in a pickup group - when we aren't pulling of course!

This is such a sad thread.



I get groups all the time.



Monks are great additions to groups. They stack well on raids.



I often get tells from across zones to join groups just because I have my LFG tag on.



If you are a good person and a smart player, groups will love you.



If you are there to pull, pull well.



If you are there to deal damage, do it and try not to get aggro. Someone dishing out monkly damage that doesn't need mana for heals is an asset to any group.



If your shaman is low mana, bandage him up while he canabilizes. He or she will love you for it.



I don't know, maybe it is because I am a cheap slut, but I rarely have the difficulties expressed here getting into groups.
